For the past couple of blogs we’ve talked about our EmbraceRF system that Dr. Smith offers for his patients. EmbraceRF is actually three devices in one, all meant to tighten skin laxity and remodel fat.
For the New Year, let’s focus on Morpheus8, the third EmbraceRF treatment along with AccuTite and FaceTite. Unlike those two procedures, Morpheus8 doesn’t use the external electrode that sits atop the outer skin. Instead, Morpheus8 provides microneedling with radiofrequency energy.
Here’s more about Morpheus8’s fractional resurfacing.
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is the most advanced fractional resurfacing treatment available. It combines microneedling, radiofrequency energy, and fractional resurfacing into one awesome treatment. Morpheus8 is the first and only full-body fractional technology for subdermal adipose remodeling. Morpheus8 gets its name thanks to its ability to morph the skin’s building blocks to contour the face and body.
What are the key benefits with Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 delivers much of the contouring you can expect with a facelift without any incisions. Here are some benefits of these treatments:
- Increased collagen production
- Quicker results
- Minimizes acne scarring
- Reduces wrinkles
- Fades stretch marks
- Reduces large pores
- Shorter treatment times
- No downtime
- Can be used on all skin tones
How does Morpheus8 work?
As mentioned above, the other EmbraceRF treatments at Dr. Smith’s utilize an outer electrode that passes RF energy from the outer skin to the cannula under the skin. Morpheus8 uses a different handpiece in the EmbraceRF system. The Morpheus8 handpiece delivers typical microneedling through the microneedles in the handpiece, but the penetration depth of these needles is sufficient enough to enter the dermis layer of the skin (up to 4mm). When the needles reach their target depth, the tips deliver a pulse of RF energy. This energy heats the dermis. When the body senses heat in the dermis layer, it assumes there has been a wound so it initiates a wound-healing response. This involves remodeling all existing collagen in the area, and then beginning the production of new collagen. Since collagen provides the skin’s structural support latticework, this instantly tightens the skin and then the increased collagen continues to build your results.
Your results aren’t instant. You’ll have some redness and slight swelling across the treatment areas. You’ll see visible contouring and skin texture changes in 2-4 weeks, but your collagen production continues to ramp up for up to 6 months.
Dr. Smith is excited about the EmbraceRF system. Now you know what the three different treatments can do for you. Interested in skin tightening without any incisions? Call us at (843) 705-8940 to schedule a consultation.
