Does Your Contour Need to Evolve?
- Posted on: Jun 15 2020
One of the truly annoying things about aging is the sagging and slackening of our tissues that happens across our entire body. The skin may indeed be our largest organ, but its aging characteristics leave something to be desired.
But Dr. Smith has added a brand-new way to firm up that sagging skin without a minute of downtime. It’s called Evolve. This new noninvasive, non-surgical body contouring and skin tightening system is made by InMode and we’re pleased to be one of the first aesthetic practices in South Carolina to offer it for our patients. Our new Evolve system offers three different treatment modalities: Evolve Tite, Evolve Trim, and Evolve Tone. In this blog, let’s get into Evolve Tite and Evolve Trim.
What is Evolve?
The technology behind Evolve is radiofrequency energy. The system uses RF energy to provide targeted skin tightening, cellulite reduction, and fat reduction.
- Evolve Tite — This aspect of the Evolve system uses radiofrequency energy to heat and remodel the surface skin by delivering energy into the dermis layer beneath the epidermis. Evolve Tite uses 8 hands-free applicators that are anchored with a cloth strap across the treatment area. The 8 applicators deliver the RF energy across the treatment areas. The energy penetrates the epidermis and enters the dermis below. There, the RF energy converts to heat. This triggers a wound-healing response in the body, where the body instantly remodels the collagen and elastin in the treatment area, but more importantly it begins production of new amounts of collagen and elastin to “heal” the perceived wounds (even though there are no actual wounds at all).
- Evolve Trim — Evolve Trim doesn’t seek to tighten the skin. Instead its target is the fat layer beneath the dermis. Trim delivers the RF energy down through 6 hands-free applicators into the dermis and fat layers. This energy again converts to heat in the dermis and fat layers, and this induces what is called apoptosis (death) of the fat cells. It also reduces the appearance of cellulite by breaking down some of the fat constricted by the skin’s connective bands. This reduction of fat slims the contours as the skin tightens down over the reduced fat.
What are these treatments like?
These treatments both involve the placement of the hands-free applicators across the treatment area. They are lightly positioned with Velcro straps, so they stay in place. Tite uses 8 applicators, while Trim uses 6. Both treatments are painless, simply creating a warming sensation across the treatment areas. Sessions last between 30 minutes and 1 hour, and you can immediately get back to work or other normal activities.
Dr. Smith recommends 6 weekly sessions for both treatments to achieve the results you seek.
